DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE FOR KIDS (all level class)
For ages 6-9 years old
Begin a journey of architectural discovery with our engaging and creative hands-on classes designed for kids aged 7 to 12! Every week, young architects will explore the incredible worlds of famous architects and design concepts, growing their creativity through the creation of 2D drawings and 3D models. We transform learning into an exciting adventure, encouraging children to observe and appreciate their built and natural surroundings. As they learn about new concepts, their vocabulary blossoms and their fine motor skills thrive through the exciting process of drawing and model-making, just like real architects in the making!
All supplies will be provided and students will be able to take their models home.
What skills we’ll learn
Intro to Architecture
Students will get a glimpse into famous architectural styles, buildings, and architects. This will begin an appreciation for cultural history and the built environment all around us.Advanced Spatial Awareness
By designing and building structures, students will learn to understand scale and perspective, enriching their spatial skills and grasp of geometry.Strategic Problem-Solving
Students will be encouraged to use their critical thinking skills by learning to anticipate challenges, adjust plans, and create innovative solutions.Real World Understanding

This class is the same as Design and Architecture for Kids but targeted towards older kids. Every week, young architects will explore the incredible worlds of famous architects and design concepts, growing their creativity through the creation of 2D drawings and 3D models. Architecture History and Influential Architects
Students will explore deeper into architectural history, learning about key styles, like modernism, and architects such as Maya Lin, gaining insights into cultural and historical contexts of design.Sustainable Building and Urban Design
Students will explore eco-friendly architecture and city planning, learning to implement sustainable practices such as energy-efficient materials and renewable energy sources into their designs.Analytical Problem-Solving
Students will be encouraged to use their critical thinking skills by learning to approach challenges methodically and adapt designs for structural integrity and creativity.Human-Centered Design in Real-World Applications
Students will use human-centered design principles to solve real-world architectural challenges. This involves researching user needs, prototyping solutions, and coming up with designs based on feedback.
