BEAUTIFUL BOUTIQUES

For ages 7 to 13

Learn about the design process and create a store concept from A to Z. Bookstores, candy shops, shoe stores, or skincare boutiques, campers can build the store concept of their dreams! In this camp we will study examples of cool store designs, create a moodboard, develop a concept from scratch, draw a floorplan, and build a 3D model. All supplies will be provided and students will be able to take their models home.

With Petit Architect, children will enjoy both individual and group activities, with a healthy mix of indoors and outdoors. Please bring a nut free snack, lunch, and water bottle.

What skills we’ll learn

• Creative Design Principles
  Campers will learn to understand aesthetics and functionality in boutique spaces.

• Space Planning
  Campers will learn how to design efficient layouts to maximize space and to create inviting spaces.

• Model-Making
  Campers will build miniature boutique models using various recycled materials (all electronic free)

• Collaboration and Problem-Solving
  Campers will present concepts and learn to receive constructive feedback.

By the end of the camp, campers will have a deep understanding of boutique design and their very own small-scale boutique model to showcase their ideas.

GREEN CITIES

For ages 7 to 13

Learn what a green city is and explore the relationship between architecture, urban design, and the environment. Using creative problem solving, we will create 2D architectural drawings and build 3D models that respect the environment around us.

With Petit Architect, children and youths will enjoy both individual and group activities, with a healthy mix of indoors and outdoors. Please bring a nut free snack, lunch, and water bottle.

What skills we’ll learn

• Urban Planning Basics
  Campers will learn to design efficient, livable spaces for communities and understand how cities grow and function.

• Eco-Friendly Design Principles
  Campers will learn about renewable energy and green building materials will including parks, green roofs, and urban gardens into their concepts.

• Model-Making
  Campers will build a collaborative green city model using various recycled materials (all electronic free)

• Collaboration and Problem-Solving
  Campers will present concepts and learn to receive constructive feedback.

By the end of the camp, campers will have gained insight into sustainable urban design and will take home their own "green city" model that demonstrates their innovative solutions for a better future.
