4 Nature Inspired Activities for Kids to Enjoy Outside
The time is here where we get to spend more time outside! Provided the weather is on our side, that is. Weather aside, we love coming up with fun activities to encourage kids to spend more time outside. Here’s a few of our favourites we keep coming back to over and over again.
Nature Mandalas
This is an easy one to keep kids busy while staying creative. Using found materials around you to create these beautiful mandalas! Leaves, rocks, pinecones, and more can be added to make these fun patterns. You could even make this a cleaning up challenge and get the kids to clean up any garbage they find while they’re searching for materials. 2 for 1!
Bird Feeders
Another classic, bird feeders can be made in SO many different ways. Popsicle sticks, spare wood pieces, egg cartons, and so much more can be used to attract more birds to your yard. Our feathered friends will love the chance to hang out in these creations.
Bug Hotels
This is a new favourite! Bugs need a home too, so why not provide them with one. You can use things like sticks and leaves for your hotel or go the recycled material route. Or even both! Bees especially have a shortage of places to live so this would be a great help. Check out this great article on how to help the bees in your backyard!
Painted Rocks
Lastly, another easy project. Painted rocks! These can be done in so many different ways. We see a lot of fun garden decorations but you could also make an outdoor game to use all summer long.
We’re sure there’s lots more activities you like to enjoy with your kids. Why not share some with us on our socials? For even more ideas we’ve made this Pinterest board that we update regularly. We’re always looking for new things to try!
We hope you all have a happy summer full of sunshine!
