5 Great Toys to Encourage Learning Through Play
The holidays are finally upon us! We’re partially excited because it’s such a wonderful time of the year, but we’re also amazed that we’re already nearing the end of the year. Can you believe it?
Whether you celebrate Christmas, or any other winter holiday, or you’re looking for a gift for a child in your life, we wanted to share some of our favourite toys that are environmentally friendly and encourage learning while they play.
Makedo
Makedo is a simple to use, open ended box of tools make to be used with cardboard to create an endless amount of things. Designed for all ages, Makedo is a catalyst for critical thinking and creativity. They have a variety of different kits with an assortment of tools.
Grimms
Another excellent toy for younger children is this rainbow house stacker by Grimm. Toddlers can easily learn to stack them up and as they get older they can be used in combination with any other toy. So many possibilities!
Just Blocks
For our European friends, we LOVE Just Blocks. They have different sized packs of building blocks made from natural wood. Just Blocks encourages kids to focus on a task until it’s completed and they are successful. These blocks are great for all ages, even helping toddlers to develop and attain new skills!
These blocks are available online and in stores in Europe and can be purchased online internationally but there’s a higher shipping cost. We highly recommend them for those in Europe!
